About Michigan City Guides

Michigan City Guides is the statewide hub for a network of 16 independent local city-guide websites. Each guide is its own site on its own domain, written for one city and maintained with that city’s readers in mind.

This hub is deliberately not a directory. You won’t find business listings here. What you will find is a clear map of the network: which cities are covered, which county and region each one sits in, a substantive overview of every city, and a direct route to the guide that actually holds the local listings.

The network spans 5 counties across 3 regions — the bulk of it in Metro Detroit, plus Ann Arbor in Washtenaw County and Lansing in Ingham County. Cities range from Detroit, Michigan’s largest, to Clawson, barely two square miles.

For businesses, the hub has a second job. Advertising across several guides at once is arranged here rather than city by city — featured placements, category sponsorships, multi-city packages and full network campaigns.
