About Grosse Pointe

Grosse Pointe is not one city but five: Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe (the City), Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Woods and Grosse Pointe Shores. Together, the Pointes run along the Lake St. Clair shoreline immediately east of Detroit.

The area's character comes from early-twentieth-century auto wealth. The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House sits on the lakefront in Grosse Pointe Shores, the Grosse Pointe War Memorial occupies a lakeside estate in the Farms, and historic mansions line Lake Shore Road.
