About Plymouth
The City of Plymouth is small — about two square miles — and almost all of its appeal is concentrated in the blocks around Kellogg Park. The park's fountain anchors a downtown of independent boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants and bars that feels much more like a small town than a Detroit suburb.
Plymouth's calendar does a lot of work. The winter ice festival fills downtown with carved sculptures, the fall festival takes over the park, and a summer concert and farmers market schedule keeps the center of town active through the warm months.
Surrounding Plymouth Township is far larger and more suburban, with most of the area's housing, schools and shopping centers. The two are separate municipalities that share a name and an identity.
