About Southfield

Southfield is unusual among metro Detroit suburbs in that it has a skyline. The gold-glass towers of the Southfield Town Center rise beside the Lodge Freeway, and the surrounding office district makes the city one of the region's largest business centers outside of downtown Detroit.

Behind the office corridor, Southfield is a substantial residential city with a diverse population, a long-established Jewish community history, and a large network of municipal parks and civic facilities around the Civic Center Complex.

Lawrence Technological University sits on Ten Mile Road, and the city's location at the crossing of I-696, M-10 and the Northwestern Highway makes it one of the easiest places in the region to reach from anywhere.
