About Sterling Heights

Sterling Heights is Michigan's fourth-largest city and one of Macomb County's main residential centers. It grew quickly in the second half of the twentieth century and is largely made up of subdivisions, parks and commercial corridors rather than a traditional downtown.

Manufacturing remains central: the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant is one of the region's largest auto plants, and supplier operations cluster nearby along Mound and Van Dyke.

Public life centers on the parks. Dodge Park along the Clinton River hosts the farmers market, splash pad and summer events, and Freedom Hill County Park's amphitheater draws concerts through the warm months. Hall Road (M-59) carries most of the area's shopping.
