About Madison Heights
Madison Heights sits at the geographic center of southern Oakland County, bordered by Royal Oak, Ferndale, Hazel Park and Warren. It is one of metro Detroit's most diverse suburbs, and that shows up most clearly at the table: the John R Road and Dequindre corridors hold one of the region's best concentrations of Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Korean restaurants and markets.
The city is practical and well connected. I-75 and I-696 meet at its edges, major employers and industrial parks line its north side, and Oakland Mall anchors retail just up John R. Red Oaks Waterpark and the county's Red Oaks trails give the south end green space and summer recreation.
Madison Heights rewards the explorer: some of metro Detroit's most celebrated noodle shops, bánh mì counters and bubble tea spots are unassuming storefronts on its main roads, which the Madison Heights Guide maps in detail.
